A little store that promises to be a paradise of all things white
If white is your color, the newly-opened World of White store in Banjara Hills is right up your alley. This unique store offers an extensive selection of white products from across the board. Think home décor, clothing, toys, furnishings, harmoniums, furnishings, and even cricket bats. “Embrace the purity of white in every aspect of your life,” states Surat Singh Malhotra who conceived this monochromatic store. Surat is the man behind the Namdhari Group of shops in Hyderabad. The Namdhari (Punjabi sect) community is known to sport white on all occasions and Surat brings the same sensibility to this store.
Thousands of articles, all in this pristine color are sourced, created and displayed under one roof. Idols of Gods in white stood out from the product range and so did white harmoniums. The serene Buddha in a meditative pose seemed like a rare piece in this hue. “We don’t sell brands, we sell white,” says Suraj. While one can easily find white outfits, bags, shoes and accessories elsewhere too, this one has exclusive lifestyle products such as crockery, wigs, musical instruments, statues, knobs, tins, cannisters and more. Our eyes stopped at the range of white marble statues made to replicate the Hindu pantheon of Gods and Goddesses.
