WOW! explores the current awards season and predicts who all may take home an Oscar this march
Awards season is currently underway and the final stop, The 96th Academy Awards, is right around the corner. The precursors to the Oscars, which include critics’ awards, festival awards, the guild awards, the BAFTAs and the Golden Globes (which officially start the season every year), give us an indication as to who all might take home the ultimate golden statue at journey’s end.
Christopher Nolan’s Oppenheimer dominates the 2024 Oscar nominations with 13 nods, closely followed by Yorgos Lanthimos’ Poor Things with 11 nods and Martin Scorsese’s historical crime drama Killers of the Flower Moon with ten. However, receiving a high number of nominations does not guarantee wins which makes it that much harder and fun to predict who may take home the highly coveted prize on March 10.
Keeping the precursors in mind, WOW! creates its very own Oscar’s prediction list for ten major categories.
