63 Degrees – This new restaurant is worth a shot for buffet lovers on the lookout for a new
joint that leaves them spoilt for choice

Named after the optimal temperature at which seafood is cooked on a grill, 63 Degrees is a multi-cuisine
buffet restaurant with seafood as its highlight. Opened in December, the restaurant boasts 8,000 square
feet space, seating 230, with Bali-inspired decor. From the statue of lord Garuda and elephant
decorations to the wooden furniture and the terracotta hues surrounding the place, the aesthetic is
unmistakably singular.
The place was crowded when we entered for lunch on a Wednesday, not only because it is one of the
days for corporate lunches, but it also happened to be Valentine’s Day. We waded through the crowd to
get to our table situated against the view of the city. We were lucky to sit next to where guitarist and
vocalist Shiv Menon of the multilingual band Aikyam performed romantic numbers keeping with the
theme of the day.
Like any buffet, we began with appetizers. For meat lovers, the selection recommended by working
partner, Dinesh K. includes Gongura Prawns, Ajwain Fish Tikka, Italian Chicken, Murgh Tikka and Mutton
Ghee Roast. The vegetarains can go for a platter which included Malai Paneer, Chilli Baby Corn, Sweet
Chilly Paneer, Mini Fryums, Crispy Corn and two pieces of Veg. Kulfi on sticks and made of paneer,
carrots and beans and coated with chivda. Our favorite from the long line-up would certainly be the hot
Sweet Chilli Paneer.
Next, we had some mains which included popular Crab Masala, Grilled Fish and the Nellore Chapla
Pullusu to go with the fast-moving dish, Pot Biryani. Then there are vegetarian options such as Veg
Kolhapuri, Dum Biryani, Burnt Garlic Fried Rice, Paneer Manchurian and Mini Fryums. The standout for
us was the masala-infused Veg Kolhapuri gravy, a must try if you are a vegetarian.
Finally, we ended our feast with a dessert platter made up of creamy Panna Cotta, Gulab Jamun, Red
Velvet Cup Cake, Strawberry Mousse, Milk Almond Pastry, Chocolate Truffle and lastly but most
importantly the unique chocolate fountain-dipped Waffle Sticks. “Each Sunday afternoon, 600 to 700
waffle sticks are consumed. People love dipping it into the chocolate fountain and they add it to the ice
cream as well,” shared Dinesh about the highly popular dessert.
