A young pub-hopper tells us how and where she unwinds on weekend nights
Yashaswini K, 26, is a communications professional in a Bengaluru-based agency. She has been in love with Hyderabad since she visited the city as a seventh grader. She shuttles between Bengaluru and Hyderabad, and seems to have the best of both worlds.
After finishing her master’s in international relations in Glasgow, the UK-returned, Yashaswini went onto work on several beverages and lifestyle brands (Myntra for instance). She carved out a space for herself in A young pub-hopper tells us how and where she unwinds on weekend nights PR with a career spanning five years. It was through her work that she re-established her love for the city of Nizams when she returned for the Signature Green Vibes event, which featured musical performances from the likes of Shilpa Rao, Bhuwin and When Chai Met Toast.
Knowing Hyderabad has a special place in her heart, we ask Yashaswini to recommend things to check out and do in the city by sharing some of her favorites.
Q & A
A NIGHTCLUB YOU CAN BE SEEN AT, TYPICALLY ON A SATURDAY NIGHT
Xena Brewery & Kitchen, Jubilee Hills. I start with wine, move to the classic Long Island Ice Tea and wrap it up with Jager bombs. Of course, I never do that on an empty stomach. I love Xena’s Korean Fried Chicken Bao and Butter Chicken Pizza. For dessert, it would be Crème Brule.
FAVORITE BAND
Rooh, a Sufi band at Air Live, Gachibowli. They also have great EDM music.
NIGHLIFE FASHION
Two looks. First is a glow-up look in a layered western outfit with fancy cold shoulder and ballerina shoes. I take off the jacket after a session of heavy dancing. Second, if I am in the mood to chill and not dress up, it’s a simple cotton dress and sneakers.
CHOICE OF POISON…
Red wine.
WHO DO YOU PARTY WITH…?
My close friends – a diverse group of singers, influencers and techies – who live in and around Madhapur.
AFTER PARTY
In Gachibowli, at home with my friends. We start with English music and end it with Telugu chartbusters. Our current favorite is Kurchini madatapetti. After the dance, we either order late night biryani from Shadaab or Pizza. If it’s even later, we make do with Maggi.
We wind down the night with soulful breakup songs by Arijit Singh and Sid Sriram and crash.
NIGHTLIFE IN ONE WORD…
Extravagant.
