Suco Juicery and Café strikes a balance between delicious and healthy
Sometimes looking for the right solution can turn you into an entrepreneur. Like it did for Rohan Reddy, who runs a design production firm for Telugu movies. His quest for juices that are healthy and delicious hit a dead-end Hyderabad and he decided to start something on his own. The basketball arena in Madhapur was his inspiration to begin the place. “About 200 kids practice basketball every day and when they come out after practice they are famished. Giving them something tasty and healthy seemed like the right thing and thus we started Suco Juicery and Café this month,” says Rohan.
While they don’t exactly avoid using sugar, they use Stevia, premium milk (such as Amul Gold) and dates or nuts to compensate for sugar wherever they can, he adds. The café with glass exteriors has been designed to let in sunlight and have a view of a game of basketball as one sips the juices and grabs their sandwiches, wraps and tortillas. “The basketball players would love more choices in their drinks and hence we have protein shakes, fun shakes with KitKat and Ferrero as well, besides refreshers that have electrolytes and fruit pulp with ORS mixes,” says Rohan. Suco means juice in Portuguese.
We tried their Biscoff and Banana Shake in a bottle and it was luscious with the right amount of Biscoff and the fruit. It was filling and lip smacking and not too sweet. Orange Ginger Detox was bright orange and slightly bitter, but exotic in taste, making us feel virtuous about our choice. Watching a game while sipping upped the experience, especially since it was our first time watching the players do a double dribble. They also have lactose-free drinks and enable users on food delivery apps to create their own shakes.
