A Fine Balance
Contactless therapy is gaining the attention of those who believe that good health is all about energy alignment
If you’ve ever witnessed or experienced energy exchange, you will agree that it is poetry in motion. One contemporary healing approach that embodies this fluidity is the polarity method, currently embraced by energy healers. The polarity method has caught the attention of those who love alternate healing and is a form of intuitive touch therapy. Polarity blends elements of Ayurveda and the fundamental principles of energy, encompassing the positive, negative, and neutral aspects. This method operates directly on the body’s energy pathways known as naadis, creating a unique and profound healing experience. If you’ve been feeling a bit of a funk but can’t seem to put a finger on the problem, try polarity energy healing to fix it. It is often the invisible energy misalignment that could be messing with your persona.
Central to the concept of polarity is the belief that all living systems rely on the intricate flow of energy. Each individual possesses a unique and healthy pattern of energy movement, and when this balance is disrupted, distortions emerge within the energy field. The primary objective of polarity is to rectify these imbalances, thus restoring harmony to the energy field. At the Heartfulness Institute at Kanha Shanti Vanam, a spiritual retreat in Hyderabad, a skilled polarity practitioner is engrossed in a session aimed at alleviating a visitor’s headache. The receiver is instructed to take deep breaths before resuming normal breathing. Positioned to the right of the receiver, the practitioner rubs their hands together, infusing them with energy. Without physical contact, one hand is placed near the receiver’s occiput (the back of the head), while the other hovers over their forehead. This delicate proximity persists as the giver periodically charges and recharges their hands, guided by the receiver’s subtle cues. Gradually, both hands move lovingly above the receiver’s head, soothing the ethereal aura surrounding it.
Ariel and Claire de Mercurio, dedicated trainers and coordinators of polarity, who visit the institute based on their appointments, say that while it’s not a medical treatment, it is a simple yet profound method, offered free of charge, designed to realign the body’s energy field. “There are no therapists; instead, there are givers and receivers. It serves as a powerful tool for easing discomforts such as headaches or shoulder and abdominal pain,” they say. As Claire explains, “When our pranamaya kosha (energy field) is in balance, our physical and spiritual selves, function optimally.”
